About me

I’m 33 and I have been doing this dieting malarkey since I was about 12, sometimes successfully and most of the time unsuccessfully! What is the difference with this time I hear you ask, well probably because this time, whilst I am doing it to lose weight, I am also doing it because of Crossfit. Did I mention that my boyfriend is a CrossFit instructor? Well he is – at Omnipotent Crossfit in Glasgow. We opened the box about 6 months ago and it would be rude of me if I didn’t take part so my worst nightmare came true and I had to put on spandex. The truth of the matter is though that I actually enjoy it – I like lifting weights and trying to do pulls ups, I don’t enjoy the gym but this is different and every time I go I learn something new. In all honesty though I haven’t been taking it all very seriously but guess what – people have told me I look like I have lost weight, and I haven’t, but without noticing I have obviously started to tone up – result!

So Paleo….well I have tried every other diet out there, weight watchers, atkins, south beach, zone, slimming world – you name it, I’ve tried it but because Crossfit values the Paleo diet I have started looking at it closely and you know what? It makes sense. Ok so I can’t eat copious amounts of chocolate but maybe the fact that the other diets let me was where I was going wrong. So its time to give it a go.

I have never even had a diary but for 30 days I am going to write about what I eat, what I do well, where I go wrong and how I do…..nobody may read this but I have to give it a go and maybe it will change my attitude and open up a new world to me! What else might you want to know? Well I am a surveyor (yawn), I live with my boyfriend Tony, I have a westie called Buddy and I love necklaces, coffee, diet coke, glam stuff, marthas vineyard, bad american tv, going out for dinner and I guess now I love CrossFit!!! (I still hate running)
